Plan Now for Jr & Sr High School

Smart decisions that your teen makes in Grades 9 and 10 can save them years of additional study and extra costs. You can help your teen by letting him or her know about specialized high school opportunities and, in some cases, actively working with your teen to locate the resources that he or she needs.

For example, if your teen would like to enter the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) they will need to find an employer who will sponsor their apprenticeship training. Your help can be invaluable in searching for and screening prospective employers.

For some careers, your teen can get additional high school and post-secondary credits just by completing CTS programs in grades 10 to 12. These are called dual credit courses and they must be started in Grade 10 and continued through to Grade 12. That’s another good reason to help your teen plan for the future now.
